I don’t think I’ll ever be able to comprehend why you came here for us. It’s one of the things I won’t even try to wrap my mind around anymore. I just know that because of what you did, I am now free…and I am now living life to the full. My entire lifetime will not be enough to say THANK YOU JESUS, but good thing there’s eternity for that… I love you!!!!
I watched this video and just sang this song after reading my Bible and I couldn’t help but cry (and cry, and cry, and cry. Hehe).
“We are His portion and He is our prize. Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes. If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.” …..How true! This could not be any more real. Thank you Lord, for your abounding and all-sufficient grace!
I pray for you, mom-friends (and again, not-yet-moms-but-still-are-friends). I pray that you will encounter and experience the grace of God and His love in a real way today and always. May it change you each day, more and more into the person God wants you to be, just as it continues to change me (Oh, thank you for being extra patient with me Lord!). May you never tire of singing about His love, never tire of hearing about His love, never tire of thanking Him for His love.
Here’s a video for all the single ladies. This ministered to me even if I’m already married! It’s definitely worth watching and passing on to all our “single” friends. (Do you all have a preferred term for being single??)
I will wait for you Lord, more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Whether single or married, all of us would have to go through seasons of waiting. More often than not, we easily forget that we serve a God who is not bound by time. We forget, then we become impatient; We panic, then we take matters into our own hands.
And we all know how this ends— we cry.
Then we remember God. We remember how he has never failed to see us through in the past. We remember how He has always been faithful. We remember how He always tells us to wait on Him.
Then we remember— and we cry out to God.
I will wait for you Lord, more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
And as always, God takes us out of the pit we have dug for ourselves. He takes us, forgives us, cleanses us, loves us, redeems us, restores us, renews us.
Then we begin to understand— our God is not bound by time. Our God is a God of perfect timing. Our God is sovereign and in control. He never panics, because He is above all and is in all. He knows all and sees all.
Then we begin to remember— to be still because we know that He is God.
I will wait for you Lord, more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Lately my mind has been preoccupied with activities I can do with the kids here at home. I’ve already made a decision to homeschool the girls, but it won’t be until they turn seven when I actually need to enroll them formally. This means that for the mean time, I could use the extra cash (well, technically it still cannot be considered extra, but adding that word makes me feel better) to buy materials or curricula (once I do get to decide which ones to use).
Before you start to think that I’m one disciplined mom who consistently comes up with creative stuff for her kids to do, I am here to tell you upfront that I am so not that kind of mom. Being some sort of a nerd, I tend to go through so much information and references, trying to take in as much as possible, and this has actually become a hindrance for me in terms of just going and doing something. I’ve been trying to fight this side of me, and I would like to think that I am making some progress in this area, but I know I still have a lot to work on.
I will let you know if I become better in this whole lesson-planning, curriculum-making, and actually-teaching gig. I promise to share whatever notes I have with you!
For now, here’s a video by comedian and homeschool dad Tim Hawkins. I just found this amusing. You may visit his website at http://www.timhawkins.net
NOTE: It’s not that we had nothing else to do when we came up with this. It’s more like mommy was too lazy to move. Haha!
At least we came up with something that you might just enjoy…
So you see the trick here moms?? If you’re too tired (or if you’re like me, and you just want to be lazy!hehe), just grab your camera or open your laptop’s Photobooth. It’ll keep the kids amused for a while and shall buy you some time to relax.
